“From Taiwan to Taiwan—A Life’s Puzzle Shaped by Chance and Inevitability: From Cross-Border Entrepreneurship to AI Transformation”
Drawing on his firm’s practical experience across Taiwan, Myanmar, Malaysia, Singapore, and other Southeast Asian markets, Architect Shih-Chou Chan shared how a multinational architectural design team was gradually established across different cultures, industries, and market environments. He also discussed how Building Information Modeling (BIM) has been integrated into the firm’s design, collaboration, and project management processes.
As AI continues to develop rapidly, we believe the value of technology lies not in replacing professional expertise, but in helping teams rediscover and strengthen the value of Human Intelligence (HI). By combining architects’ professional judgment, experience, and creativity with BIM’s information-integration capabilities and AI’s computational efficiency, we can establish a more accurate, efficient, and forward-looking model of collaboration.
From the chance encounters and inevitable decisions behind cross-border entrepreneurship to the transformation brought about by BIM and AI, every experience has become an important piece in the puzzle of life and professional development.
We sincerely thank all the alumni for their enthusiastic participation and the lively discussions following the presentation.
