【2025 JSID/GEP Awarded Project: Reconstruction of Bruwan Shanyue Village after the 0403 Earthquake】

We are proud to announce that Jhan Shih-Chou Architects in collaboration with Chen Chuan-Chou Architects has been officially awarded the project for “Planning, Design, and Construction Supervision Services for the Reconstruction of Bruwan Shanyue Village after the 0403 Earthquake.”

The project is commissioned by the Northern Region Branch of the Construction and Planning Agency, Ministry of the Interior (MOI), under case number 113-C304-01-03-1015-018-0. Following the public selection process on August 22, 2025, our joint team was chosen to undertake this significant mission, drawing on our expertise, teamwork, and commitment to public infrastructure.

Project Significance

Located in Taroko, Hualien, Bruwan Shanyue Village was severely damaged by the April 3rd earthquake. Through this project, we will provide professional planning, design, and supervision services to restore the village, revitalize Taroko cultural identity, and enhance the safety and sustainability of its facilities. This reconstruction effort is not only about repairing structures but also about reviving cultural heritage and supporting the region’s tourism and community development.
