Project Objectives
Reconstruction and New Facility Planning
Demolish damaged buildings and convert the area into a storage zone; construct three new guesthouses, including accessible rooms; and add a Taroko-style scenic observation deck and indigenous cultural marketplace to strengthen hospitality functions and cultural presentation.
Functional Expansion and Space Optimization
Expand the lobby kitchen and dining areas, and add storage facilities, covered walkways, and multipurpose spaces. The parking lot will also be expanded to enhance food and beverage services, improve operations and educational experiences, and strengthen transportation and reception capacity.
Accommodation Quality and Environmental Improvement
Optimize guestroom layouts and external facilities (such as pavilions), repair interior damages caused by earthquakes, and improve roof waterproofing and insulation performance to elevate the overall lodging experience.
Safety and Infrastructure Enhancement
Install rockfall protection facilities and replace outdated fire safety and water supply pipelines to ensure mountain safety and improve the resilience of overall infrastructure.
Water Resource Stabilization System
Expand the mountain spring water storage tank to a 1,000-ton capacity and add a water treatment system, along with an underground well backup system, to ensure stable water supply and mitigate risks from natural disasters.
This project, guided by the core spirit of “Restoration, Continuation, and Regeneration,” aims to rebuild the original traditional houses and duplex wooden cabins, while integrating indigenous cultural elements with modern sustainable architectural concepts. The plan is committed to preserving the village’s authenticity while enhancing building safety and functionality. Looking ahead, Shanyue Village will continue to serve as a vital gateway where culture and nature meet in Taroko National Park, offering visitors a tourism experience that combines cultural depth with modern comfort.
