Tiandan Military Base

(1) Main Complex Building

Facade and Exterior Material Design Principles:

  1. In alignment with the Army’s focus on ground combat, the architectural imagery adopts the strategic symbolism of a fortress. The overall form emphasizes bilateral symmetry to convey a sense of stability and order.
  2. The building base features a dark brown stone-textured coating, projecting a solid and grounded visual foundation.
  3. Above the second floor, the façade is finished in white and light brown stone-textured coatings, with a light gray base color to create a layered and coherent visual language.
  4. The design emphasizes a graceful, minimalist aesthetic to represent the modernized and composed image of today’s military.
  5. The roof is crowned with a centrally located tower, adding visual focus and gravitas, and includes a flagpole to symbolize institutional identity and military spirit.
  6. The color palette—comprising clean gray, transitional light brown, and grounding dark brown—reflects the core values of unity, resilience, and pragmatism.
  7. The use of light gray as a dominant background color enhances visual coherence and strengthens the overall identity and recognizability of Army facilities.
  8. Through this carefully composed architectural expression, incoming personnel are intended to experience a sense of cohesion and belonging, reinforcing pride and loyalty to their branch of service.

(2) Guardhouse / Visitor Reception Building

Facade and Exterior Material Design Principles:

  1. This facility continues the primary design language and color scheme of the Main Complex Building, promoting visual harmony throughout the compound.
  2. The exterior adopts a refined palette of clean gray, transitional brown, and dark brown at the base to convey a refreshed and modernized image of the Army.
  3. The use of gray, light brown, and dark brown is intended to embody the core values of unity, strength, and practical integrity.
  4. A large portion of the building is rendered in light gray, reinforcing architectural coherence and enhancing the visibility and identity of military facilities.
  5. The design aims to evoke a sense of cohesion and collective identity among incoming personnel, cultivating a stronger sense of belonging and pride in their military affiliation.
