Singapore Chai Chee Memorial Park Design Concept

Singapore Chai Chee Memorial Park blends Buddhist principles with modern design to create a future-focused columbarium. It merges traditional culture with contemporary needs, offering a serene spiritual sanctuary.

Core Design: Culture Meets Nature

Inspired by New Oriental style, the park integrates modern comfort with traditional elegance. Built along the hilly landscape, it embraces the “Culture + Nature” duality, harmonizing with its surroundings.

Spatial Experience: Reflection and Change

The “Moments in Motion” concept features white dots on the ground, symbolizing life’s rhythm. A central Buddha shifts in clarity with distance, reflecting impermanence and encouraging introspection.

Architectural Features: Light and Flow

Vents inspired by Buddha’s cave retreats create a sacred ambiance with light and shadow. Semi-outdoor spaces connect indoors and outdoors, while the central atrium, with water and greenery, fosters reflection.

Master Plan: Inclusive Urban Space

The plan integrates commercial, residential, and public zones with seamless connectivity. It prioritizes community well-being with green spaces and cultural elements, balancing economic growth and serene living.

Art and Details: Oriental Heritage

New Oriental elements like dougong and partition screens add cultural depth. Materials like marble and wood, paired with soft lighting, create a luxurious yet warm atmosphere.

Conclusion: A Timeless Sanctuary

Chai Chee Memorial Park is a sacred space for life’s stories, connecting past and future, nature and culture. It offers a space for mindfulness, reminding us to find peace in the present.
